About the Clan

Organization: The Clan since its formation in 1967 has been run entirely on a volunteer basis. As the club has grown, so has the number of volunteers needed to run the club. Members of executive or committee, with their contact details, currently needed to keep the club moving forward is listed below. Location: The clubs is located at Airways Park , 11060 - 111 Ave, about 10 blocks north of Edmonton city centre and three blocks west of the Kingsway Garden Mall transit centre. The club is readily accessible by public and private transport and has a large 80-car paved parking lot.

Grounds: The club has two rugby fields leased from the City of Edmonton, situated just to the south of the city airport. One pitch has an under ground sprinkler system and is one the best playing surfaces in Alberta. A second field is used mainly for practice but the club has plans to develop it with the aid of above ground irrigation into a second rugby specific playing field.

The Clubhouse: Since buying the clubhouse about 30 years ago the club has radically upgraded the original structure with the current building now serving almost all the clubs needs. In the basement there are separate men’s and women’s changing facilities, with a referee’s changing room under development. On the main floor there is a 2,000 square foot general social area with bar facilities. On the first floor the Bear’s Den accommodates the Old Boys. The clubhouse is available for rental for private parties, contact Lori, Clubhouse Manager.

Social: Social activity has always been an important and integral part of Clan Rugby. Further to being a morale builder it can be used for fund rasing purpose both for rugby and charities. In addition to social activities that occur after games and practices, the clubhouse is generally open after work on Fridays and theme parties are held about once a month. Old Boys Gatherings are normally held the on second Thursday of the month during the winter and on selected match days during the playing season.
